Meet Tanvi Kumar, our intern from NIT Trichy.

Tanvi was an intern at WeCP for two months. She has a passion for open-source software and says coding is one of the only few things that she can do for hours on end, other things being playing the keyboard and dancing.

Here's What Tanvi Had To Say About Her Time With WeCP

“I was extremely happy when I got an internship at WeCP. Prior to this internship, most of my work had been in front-end development and I wanted to be able to contribute to WeCP on other fronts to expand my knowledge. It made me really happy when I found out that I’d be doing full-stack development on the first day! The two months I spent at WeCP was by far the best two months of my life. Not only was I very happy with the type of work I got to there, I saw myself learn a lot and grow as a developer. Bangalore is an incredible city and the team at WeCP is so friendly. Good work, good conversations, personal growth, great company, and an incredible environment, what more could one ask for.”

At WeCP, we give complete ownership of the tasks that are assigned to any of our team members. Among the tasks Tanvi was entrusted with, making run time optimizations for a particular product was her favourite bit. She was able to bring down the run time of a particular task from about 27 seconds to 3-4 seconds and found that to be very fulfilling.

Tanvi's Key Takeaways From The Internship

“Perhaps, the most important thing I learned is that in-depth knowledge of even something small will help you more than surface knowledge or a couple of things. It really helps to spend 10-15 minutes learning about something new you come across while debugging code or trying to find a solution to a problem. Aside from all this, I think I was learning something new every day from the people around me.”

Her Memorable Moment

“It is really difficult for me to think of a single moment. I’ve mentioned before that I really liked the work so, I’ll use this as a chance to talk about all the other things. All the late-night dinners, Bojack Horseman talks, ice creams, and momos and the laughs we shared across the room every few hours, I hope to never forget them!”

Tanvi's Message To Our Readers

“The internship experience at WeCP has been absolutely incredible. People say that working in a startup can be really hectic and often not as rewarding as it sounds, maybe that is the case for some, but surely not here. The people here are extremely professional but also very friendly. If you get a chance to be a part of this team make the best use of it, it’ll be the time of your life!”

Tanvi is currently trying to learn more about algorithmic coding. Her dream is to make an impact in this world with her own software. She also plans on doing what she can to help increase diversity in the software industry.

It was great to have Tanvi as a part of the WeCP family. We wish her all the success in her future endeavors.
