Hello, I'm Subhash Sheoran. Currently, I'm pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT BHU Varanasi. My passion lies in tackling problems related to data structures and algorithms. I actively participate in competitive programming contests on platforms such as Codeforces and Codechef, where I hold a rating of 2092 (Candidate Master) on Codeforces and am recognized as a 6-star coder on Codechef. Throughout my college journey, I've had the opportunity to delve into various domains of computer science, including web development, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, broadening my understanding and skill set in the field.
Describe your experience while working here at WeCP
I commenced my journey with WeCP as an intern for problem setting and testing on December 30, 2023. It has been an enriching experience thus far. The work atmosphere at WeCP is truly exceptional, fostering productivity and creativity. Moreover, the individuals at WeCP exhibit a remarkable level of helpfulness and friendliness, making collaboration both enjoyable and rewarding.
WeCP gives you complete ownership of the tasks that are assigned to you. Which task that you owned at WeCP was your favorite?
One of my favorite responsibilities was testing difficult problems. This task posed a significant challenge since at times, the problem statements were not entirely clear. I navigated this challenge by deciphering them with the assistance of their solutions. Additionally, I ensured the validation of solutions against the problem statements. Overall, I found this task particularly engaging and rewarding.
In hindsight, is there anything you would have done differently during your stay at WeCP with respect to the work that you did?
When reflecting on my time at WeCP, I believe that hindsight offers valuable insights. While I am proud of the work I accomplished during my tenure, there are always opportunities for improvement. If given the chance, I would have focused on enhancing my communication skills further to ensure clearer understanding of problem statements and smoother collaboration with team members. Additionally, I would have sought out more diverse perspectives and approaches to problem-solving to enrich the quality of my contributions. Overall, I view these potential adjustments as areas for growth and development in my professional journey.
Where and what are you currently working on? What are your plans for the future?
As I am currently in the final phase of my studies, I am focusing on completing my degree and preparing for my transition to the professional world. Upon graduating this summer, I am excited to join Google as a Software Development Engineer starting from June 1, 2024. My immediate plan is to immerse myself in the dynamic environment at Google, contribute effectively to the team, and continuously learn and grow within the company. Looking further ahead, I aspire to become proficient in various domains of software engineering and eventually take on more challenging roles that allow me to make meaningful impacts in the field of technology.
What were your takeaways from this internship?
Throughout this opportunity, I acquired valuable skills such as adept time management, fostering discipline, taking ownership of my tasks, and honing my content writing proficiency. Additionally, I enhanced my ability to refine problem statements and craft comprehensive testcase descriptions.
Can you recall your most memorable moment here at WeCP?
I've had numerous memorable moments during my time at WeCP. One standout memory is when we faced the challenge of preparing 6 to 7 sets of problems daily. As a team, we collaborated tirelessly to meet these daily targets. The sense of accomplishment we felt upon successfully completing each day's workload was truly gratifying.
